These are some of our most frequently asked questions. If you have a question that is not answered here let us know.
Choose a course or lesson that is of interest to you from the curriculum or store sections of the website. Click the "add to cart" button. You will be taken to a shopping cart where you can purchase the lesson. Once purchased, the item will be permanently added to your library where you can watch it as often as you like.
At this time we’re still in the planning stages for how belt testing will work with the Academy. We want to make sure we have the most optimal solution for our students and schools. As soon as we know the direction this will take we’ll make an announcement on the site. At this immediate time though, the existing courses are designed to give the online student a strong base of Krav Maga, but any rank/belt testing will need to be arranged directly through a physical Krav Maga Worldwide school and follow their format, rules and process.

The interactive lesson player should run well on any multimedia capable PC, Mac, tablet or mobile device that has a broadband connection and a modern browser. In addition the printouts require a pdf viewer such as Adobe Acrobat and the slides require Flash. Both of these are free browser plugins.
Once you add a lesson to your library you can view it as many times as you wish.
Each lesson forum is moderated by a subject matter expert. In some cases that will be the course instructor but in other cases it will be an expert in that topic. When you post a question, in most cases you should receive a qualified response within a couple of days although not all questions will be answered.
Krav Maga is the official self defense and fighting system of the Israeli Defense Forces, hundreds of U.S.
The literal translation from Hebrew to English is “contact combat” or “close combat.”
The seeds of the unique Krav Maga Self Defense system were planted back in the late 1930s in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia by a young man named Imi Lichtenfeld. Imi was a natural athlete, holding European championship titles in a variety of sports, including boxing, wrestling, and gymnastics. It was from his father, however, a famous and highly respected police detective and trainer, that Imi learned street fighting skills that he woud use to save his own life and those of his neighbors on the rough streets of Eastern Europe.

Prior to World War II, Imi was fortunate enough to escape from Eastern Europe. He arrived in the Middle East and began fighting for the independence of Israel. Shortly after the formation of the fledgling state, Imi was hanpicked by the government to create a practical, highly effective self defense and hand-to-hand combat system for the military. Keenly aware of the differences between sports competition and street survival, Imi developed the Krav Maga System, which was initially taught only to the Israeli Defense Forces, National Police, and Secret Service. Because of its incredible effectiveness, Krav Maga has since spread to the civilian population and is now taught throughout Europe, Scandinavia, and the United States
You don’t need any martial arts experience to start training in Krav Maga.
We have three civilian programs: Self Defense, Fighting and Fitness, and we have a Force Training
Although belts are not worn in class, there is a complete belt system in Krav Maga:
  • KM Level 1 (Yellow Belt Curriculum))
  • KM Level 2 (Orange Belt Curriculum))
  • KM Level 3 (Green Belt Curriculum))
  • KM Level 4 (Blue Belt Curriculum))
  • KM Level 5 (Brown and Black Belt Curriculum)
Note: Black Belt and above is by invitation only and require a minimum of 12 months training as a Brown Belt.
These timelines are only approximates and assume the student is training on average two to three times per week. (Please be aware that students progress through the system at different paces.)
  • Yellow Belt Test – 4 months
  • Orange Belt Test –6 months
  • Green Belt Test – 9 months
  • Blue Belt Test – 9 months
  • Brown Belt Test – 12 months
  • Black Belt Test – at least 12 months and by invitation only
